....Out of Africa/India 2010

Dear Larry,

Wow what an amazing month.   In the midst of all that is going on around us.  In all that is tugging at us we can surely say that God is still on the throne.  He uses you and us to do so much.

So many people have been touched by your prayers, support and all the ways that you have helped us.  Together we are making a difference--in some places it may seem so small, but in other places it is so big. We are like a puzzle every piece shaded differently, but when put it all together we see that we are part of something bigger.

It is always hard to express how we truly appreciate all that you do. The sacrifices that you make to help others.  We know that your rewards in heaven are great.  It would be wonderful if we could wrap our arms around you and give you a Texas sized hug.  But for now we can only say Thank you for what you do.

India Report
borderIndia is a nation with thousands of gods.  In Nepal we found ourselves in the middle of a huge pilgrimage to pay homage to a particular god.  It took 3 hours to inch through the sea of thousands on their way to worship what can never free them from the bondage that they live under.  We started out that morning thinking that we would be home by early afternoon.  Little did we know that our Nepal journey would not only take all day but a good portion of the night as well.  The precious Christian brethren who waited 4+ hours  past our scheduled arrival time touched our hearts as we prayed together and talked about how God is moving and reaching souls in Nepal.  The people expressed their gratitude for a place of worship.  They treated us with the traditional winter drink of tea with black pepper!  Interesting!  The also offered us a variety of unfamiliar foods!!

We also traveled to many other churches in India that were built by our home church.  Just like we build here in Guatemala!  We traveled to the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains and all the way to the Bhutan Border.  We went into the tea estates of Darjeeling sharing everywhere the message of God's limitless power and love!

One pastor wanted to thank the team for his church traveled 5 DAYS, 2 on foot and 3 in a bus, just to spend 20 minutes saying thank you.  Then he began his long journey home taking with him a new found connection with his brothers and sisters from the U.S. who made it possible for him to have a church in which to preach the gospel.  Another pastor had a similar story, he traveled 2 days just to meet the team and Pastor Hale and to thank us personally.

Pastor Hale dedicated one church and because of delays we arrived many hours late, but we found everyone waiting with a ribbon across the doorway to be cut for the dedication and a feast afterward to celebrate.  They showered us with gifts of appreciation and friendship.  Our hearts were truly knit together in Christian love!

africa1Masai land and Duruma land, 2 distinctively wonderful places filled with wild animals and a people who serve God with all their heart!

Larry was given the staff of long life in one village, and a wildebeest tail used by the village elders.  Last July he was baptized into the Masai tribe and given a Masai name, "Memeri" which means "One who can not be defeated"  Hallelujah!

Our team was in 3 church services and 2 pastor conferences where we were able to minister the word, pray for the sick and encourage the body of Christ as well as almost 500 pastors.  Here we were given goat and soured milk and we just want to say that peppered tea definitely wins!!!!

God protected us in many dangerous situations and we accomplished our mission.

As you can see by our photos, we saw many amazing animals in Africa and India.

Thank you for helping us go into the uttermost parts of the earth!  Great is your reward in heaven!!!

While we were in Africa/India we were able to set into motion and begin construction of 6 new village churches here in Guatemala!

The feeding centers are doing well and continuing to reach families with the gospel and fill tummies at the same time.

Just a note of prayer, February and March are very busy with teams.  Please pray that souls be reached and God keeps us safe as we travel daily into the villages.  One team will even be hiking in everyday to a village with medical and construction.  May God be glorified in all we do!

Together we are the change!
