“....Who maketh his  angels spirits and His ministers as Flames of Fire.”

Hebrews 1:7

Ingeniero Feeding Center

The feeding center in the village of Ingeniero opened in May 2004!  What a blessing it was to see the little faces eagerly await their bowl of food.  Opening day we had 45 enrolled. We told the pastor of the church to enroll 40 children, she just couldn't say no to some.  So, opening day we had 45 enrolled, we are up to 60 now!  It's so hard to say no to hungry children.  I'm not sure how we are feeding 60, God is making it stretch!

The first day of the feeding center was a very happy day but also a very sad day to us.  The children are accustomed to so very little to eat that they couldn't finish the bowl of food.  They only get one tortilla with their food so that they will eat the vegetables that they so desperately need.  Most of the children ate the tortilla and a few spoons of food and were full.  At home very often all they receive is a tortilla as their entire meal.  But we are so happy to report that they are now cleaning their bowls and asking for more!  Thank you for helping us feed the children.  God will surely bless you.

This is one of the poorest villages that neighbor Chiquimula.  The poverty is overwhelming.  Raw sewer runs in the dirt streets.  There is little running water.  Most people live in bamboo huts or barjareque (mud and sticks).  This is the village where baby Guillermo was found near death from malnutrition.  We have been feeding him and he has doubled his weight since July 2003.
