“....Who maketh his  angels spirits and His ministers as Flames of Fire.”

Hebrews 1:7

Update on our recent trip to

Kenya, Africa.

We want to tell you just a little of what we did while we were there and how the Lord used the offering that you gave to bless the remote churches of Duruma-land.

The trip to Africa was absolutely wonderful.  Seeing the village churches was so exciting for us because that is the essence of our heart here in Central America. We love to be able to minister to and encourage the pastors and church members. Life can be so very challenging in the villages where the gospel is just starting out.  So, there we were, participating as part of a group, depending on translators to be able to talk with the people, just like so many do when they come to see us in Guatemala.  In each church that we went to we had the opportunity to give hand-woven bags (hand made by people in a village where we built a 100 club church in Guatemala) to the pastors. They were so blessed by it, it showed them that they aren't alone and that even all the way in Guatemala there are people praying for them.

Also, we were able to give away 240 bibles to the churches. On an average, there were less than three bibles in each church--in some churches only the pastor had a bible.  There were anywhere from 20 to 100 people in each church. So it was a tremendous need.  But what really made this special is the fact that the money for the bibles did not come from someone in the United States, but from someone here in Guatemala. Someone with not a huge abundance of money.  Our God is so great, just listen to what He did.  The person who gave the money had problems with his ears for some time.  But after the Lord spoke to him and he gave the money for the bibles he was immediately healed totally of the ear problems. PTL! So, we were blessed just being the vessels used to get the bibles to the village churches in Kenya.  So many of the churches told us how they had been praying for bibles.  It was wonderful to see village churches receive the answers to their prayers.  Hallelujah!

We preached in several churches, bringing words of encouragement and salvation.  There were many that accepted Christ as their Savior.  Everywhere we went we tried to make the connection between them, the 100 club and Guatemalan 100 club churches.....and the connection was there.  Their hearts were joined with ours and ours with theirs, so thank you for giving and helping us to "go" into Kenya with the word of God.

We saw monkeys, elephants, deer, bush babies, red squirrels, and animals that we aren't quite sure what they were!!  Marla was given an honorary Duruma name meaning Harvest.  We both were taught how to dance like the Duruma and let us just say that they are quite lively in their worship and praise.
