Another Prayer Request

Dear Friends and Partners,

Yes, it really is another newsletter.....on time!  Actually, it's only been 3 weeks but we just couldn't wait to thank you for your prayers about our truck.  We are so pleased to say that the need was met!  So, a very special thank you goes to our precious sister who gave that--as all of our partners join in giving thanks to the Lord for your obedience and generosity our Father in heaven knows just who you are and what your needs are and He will reward your faithfulness.  We truly think that you are the best partners in the world.

These past 3 weeks have been full and wonderful, but they have once again presented opportunities for us to use our faith.  We ask that you join your faith with ours this month for Marla.  As we were on our way to Antigua with a team she was standing up in the bus talking to the team, and as we pulled out onto the highway here in Chiquimula the bus driver slammed on the brakes.....as gravity would have it she went flying forward---right into the rail that separates the first row of seats from the door, she broke a rib so we ask for you to please stand in agreement with us in prayer that healing come quickly.  She is already much better, breathing almost normal again, but still has some pain.

Blessings,

Larry Johnson

Medical Clinics...treat more than just the physical body,

they treated the spirit man!

Our dear friends from Gainesville, Florida came for their annual spring break missions trip this March.  Within the team were a group that did medical, another that did children's outreach, and yet another that took on the project of building another feeding center.  The construction team spent their days working hard to get the kitchen and eating area ready for opening day, while the rest of us took much needed medical care to remote villages.  The Gainesville gang is always up for the challenge as we take them places that no gringo has ever gone before......well, except for us!  This year we hiked into a village that could only be reached on foot or on mule/horse.  So we set out and some hiked and some rode, all with one purpose...to fulfill the great commission of taking this gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth.  We even had a church service in that village, Pastor Robert Kuschel was with us and preached a great message on the 2 thieves hanging beside Jesus, it was near holy week and really made an impact on the unsaved villagers who had come for the medical clinic.  Many people accepted Christ as Savior as a result of the medical and children's outreaches!  Thank  you Gainesville!  Then, to top it all off....we all celebrated opening day of the feeding center together--the construction crew actually severed the children their very first bowl of food!  oh it was great, just look at the photos.  if you click on each one you can see them individually, and larger.  I hope you enjoy the photos.

Feeding Center Built in Pacren....opening day was fantastic seeing the children eat!

All in all, there is nothing better than serving the Lord and doing just what He has called you to do.  We praise the Lord for our partners that link arms together with us to preach the gospel and touch lives.  One way we do this is through the feeding centers.  Here is our newest in the Chortí  village of Pacren!

The little girl on the top row of pictures in the middle with me is Leidi, pronounced Lady.  she is malnourished and has lost almost all of her hair.  she is also on the second row from the bottom far left.  Please pray with me that her body respond well to the food and recuperate fully from the malnutrition..  We also have several children here in this feeding center that are in the yellow zone of malnutrition, we will be serving a hot meat and vegetable meal 3 times a week along with vitamins so that they can develop and grown like normal children.  please pray for the newest feeding center in Pacren and Pastor Eliseo as he teaches these children the basic biblical precepts that will impact their lives forever.

Church construction has begun for '08

The beginning of April marks the construction thrust for '08.  We are building churches all this month and ask that you pray for our guatemalan team of construction workers as they stay in the villages building.  They often sleep on the floor or outside and eat whatever the villagers can feed them.  They are a great group of christian men who want to do something with eternal value with their skill, although paid for their labor they look at it as a ministry to the Lord.  They could easily work here in the city and sleep in their own beds for the same money or more, but they choose to make the sacrifice for the kingdom of God.  So we ask that you pray for Jeremiah and his crew.
