“....Who maketh his angels spirits and His ministers as Flames of Fire.” Hebrews 1:7 |
September/October Newsletter
Precious Friends and Partners,
We are so sorry that it
has taken so long to get out a newsletter to you! As always, our only excuse is
that we've been so busy. Since last time we wrote you we have built several
churches as well as maintained the 5 feeding centers. Without your prayers and
partnership it just would not have happened! One by one we are touching
the villages with the gospel of Jesus Christ. So many of you write and let us
know that you are praying, for that we are extremely grateful. Prayer does
change things! We made it through a couple of hurricanes without any damage at
the ministry center, and not too many reports of damage in our villages either!
So, please continue to lift us in prayer, we count on it. We will be doing many
church dedications between now and the end of the year and ask for your prayer
covering. Each time we go up the mountains it is an experience. We just never
know what is waiting for us. We pray and trust God each time that we go.
New Help for the
ministry
We have also been busy
trying to settle in a new missionary intern, Brandy Jarrell from Family Life
Church of God in Archer, Florida as well as a good friend of the ministry for
many years, Karla Oubre. Karla is from our home church in Spring Texas, Grace
Christian Fellowship. She has made a year commitment. We ask that you add
these to precious women of God to your prayer list as they come along side of
the ministry. We know they will be a tremendous asset.
Christmas Baskets
for Feeding Centers!
It may only be the
beginning of Fall but we are in the full swing of planning our Christmas baskets
for all 5 feeding centers. In year's past we were only able to do one or two
feeding centers, but we have a goal this year of all five! We would love
nothing more than for each family to have that special meal on Christmas. As we
sit at our tables, filled with so much food, it will warm our hearts to know
that they too are celebrating the birth of the Christ child with a special
meal. Many would have nothing to eat at all, can this be right? So, we ask
that you dig deep into your hearts and imagine Christmas at your house with no
food or toys. We would also love to give a toy to each child in the family. It
can be very inexpensive, $1 or so. Would you help us? We estimate that each
basket of food will cost $17 per family. We have 170 families between the 5
feeding centers and there are approx. 530 children within those family units.
So, then we need 170 Christmas Baskets and 530 Toys. We know that you will
help, you always do so generously. Thank you in advance. We know that God will
multiply your seed sown.
Church
Construction Continues
As always the church
construction is continuing on. We plan on having 20 new churches built by the
end of 2007. It has been slower during the rainy season, but we have built
several within the last few months. The Honduran churches are growing in
quantity and spiritually. They are working hard to spread the gospel through
the unreached villages of Honduras. We will be planning a trip there before the
year is up to dedicate the newest churches. They all send their love and
gratitude to those who have given in order to help them have a place to worship
God and preach the gospel! We are praying over beginning to build in Nicaragua,
please lift this in prayer with us. It requires much organization, but we do
feel that the Lord is leading us to look toward Nicaragua. They are begging for
churches!
Until next month, please
know that we love you and we are praying for you. We are so appreciative of all
that you do for us. Thank you for helping us take the gospel to the unreached
in Guatemala and Central America. Together we are changing the unreached
villages of Central America. We have decided not to just pray for change but to
BE THE CHANGE! Will you BE THE CHANGE? God bless you and keep you.
