“....Who maketh his angels spirits and His ministers as Flames of Fire.” Hebrews 1:7 |
In this month's edition:
November, a month of Thanks Eph 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Dear Friends and Partners,
What a wonderful time of year to give thanks to the Lord for all that He has done for us throughout the year. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and pray that you did too. We celebrated here at home with missionary/ministry friends. Some North American, and some Guatemalan, but all came with grateful hearts. We thank the Lord for friends like you, who truly care about us. You are more than partners, you make us feel like you count us among your friends. A friend loveth at all times proverbs says, you always make us feel loved. We know that you pray for us and we want you to know that we genuinely pray for you as well. Thank you for partnering with us, and thank you for being so faithful. May God grant you the most wonderful holiday season that you've ever had.
La Prensa Feeding Center Opens!
Praise the Lord for Simpsonville Church of God, they came and built the feeding center in La Prensa, Olopa in October. We have opened and it is a huge blessing to the community. We started out with an estimation of accepting 50 children into the program, but it is so hard to say no to hungry children. At last count there are 97! We have one little girl, pictured below on her mom's lap in pink. We started giving her formula for this little girl back month's ago. She is severely malnourished, her little tummy bloated with parasites. In Jesus name we will make a difference in her little life.
We are working on getting running water to the feeding center, that will cost $800 but we know that is nothing for the Lord. Right now we are having to haul water 3 times a week just to wash dishes and cook and clean. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words so we will let the photos do the talking. Look for the page dedicated to the La Prensa feeding center in just a few days.
Ladies Conference 2006 "Arise and Shine!"
What a tremendous success! The 2006 Ladies Conference had over 500 in attendance, coming from as far away as Coban and Olopa! Many traveled hours and hours to get there, many walking down the mountain to the nearest road. Some women had to get up and start the journey at 4am in order to be there in time. But not only were they there on time, many arrived early, so eager to hear the word of God. And hear the word they did! For 2 days we preached and sang and prayed! During the night service, at one point I thought that they would pray all night as the altar filled with ladies seeking a fresh touch from God. The Lord met them right where they were and healed them, touched them, ministered to them and gave them hope in the knowledge that God loves them and they are special to Him. Our Pastors, Albert & Monica Hale came down to do the conference with a team of women from our home church. A special thanks to them all for making this conference possible for the village women. As we've said many only get to come down from the village once a year. For our newest churches many of these women had never been down the mountain. We even had to show them how to use a restroom. But the Spirit of the Lord passes all boundaries of culture and language! We've already had numerous reports back testifying that the women were touched in their bodies and spirits. We ministered to them that it was time for them, as women, to rise and shine--that God can even use women!
Until next month, remember..... Together we are making a difference! Your Missionaries to Guatemala Larry & Marla |
